Instead of making a promise to find at least 1 new client a week, promise yourself that you will stop the “random acts of networking.” Promise yourself that you will no longer attend events that will have any less than 70% of your ideal clients in attendance.
I recently read a sign that stated, “It’s free to speak; it’s expensive to be heard.” I believe that being heard means that one’s voice, or message, connects with the consciousness of others and they receive the messengers and the message.
If we rush through life deleting any and everything that seems out of place, we may miss important people and life lessons. Thus, deletions should be done with caution and with an open heart and perspective.
Leaders enjoy challenges that trigger personal growth or to sharpen a skill. However, challenges come with a downside: the risk of failure, the pain of embarrassment or even shame. It is enough to make anyone think twice about stepping up to the plate.
