Remember when the air was filled with the promises of “I’m going to make more money,” “This is my year,” and ‘I’m really going to do it this time” blah, blah, blah? Everyone was all hyped up, but now, 3 months into the year, the majority of those New Year’s “promises” will have gone Bye, Bye, Bye. I know, because I used to make some of those same promises. It wasn’t until a few years ago, that I made yet another promise that I actually kept and WOW, what a difference it has made.
What was it, you ask? Well, it was one of the simplest promises that I have ever made in my life. Instead of starting the year off focusing on things I was going “to do,” I began focusing on things that I wasn’t going to do. For example, instead of saying, “I’m going to lose 10 pounds this year,” I said, “I’m going to cut out all sugary drinks.” And low and behold I lost the 10 pounds without even trying.
Let’s take a look at how this concept can help you grow your business. Instead of making a promise to find at least 1 new client a week, promise yourself that you will stop the “random acts of networking.” Promise yourself that you will no longer attend events that will have any less than 70% of your ideal clients in attendance. In doing, so you position yourself in the right place at the right time and finding 1 client per week becomes a piece of cake. See how it works? Very simple.
Now take a moment and come up with at least 3 “Not To-Dos” and watch how fast you begin to achieve your 2013 goals.
GET UP, GET GOING, & GET THERE!!!!
